Project overview

Gazprom ID — unified digital identity platform A single sign-on and authentication system powering seamless access to digital services across the Gazprom ecosystem. Trusted by millions of users and adopted by leading partners to reduce friction, increase security and improve conversion across complex digital products

The Challenge

In large digital ecosystems, users often struggle with fragmented login systems, redundant registrations, and inconsistent security protocols — leading to frustration, high abandonment rates and weak engagement. Gazprom’s ecosystem faced similar challenges due to the multitude of services, platforms and partner apps, each requiring separate credentials. The opportunity was to create a unified digital identity layer that would eliminate repetitive user actions, make authorization intuitive and secure, and enable Gazprom’s ecosystem to become more cohesive and user-centric — while supporting expanded adoption by external partners and businesses

My Approach

As lead product designer between 2023 and 2026, I helped shape the end-to-end design strategy for Gazprom ID — a key digital ecosystem asset: Defined UX strategy for streamlined onboarding and identity flows. Designed interfaces for seamless authentication across services using Single Sign-On (SSO). Collaborated with engineering and security teams to ensure compliance with robust safety and data protection standards. Tailored interfaces to scale across devices and contexts, ensuring consistent experience from mobile apps to web portals. Crafted flexible integration patterns that allow partners to embed Gazprom ID with minimal cognitive load on their users. The design balanced business requirements, regulatory constraints and user expectations — resulting in a product that feels both simple and reliable even in complex enterprise contexts

The Results

Seamless experience – users no longer encounter isolated login screens or repeated sign-ups — reducing drop-off and increasing engagement. Improved conversion – frictionless authorization correlates with higher conversion in digital channels from content consumption to service activation. Mass adoption – Gazprom ID supports 45 million registered users (with 4 million daily active users) and integrates with a growing list of partners, enabling both stronger network effects and broader ecosystem value for business stakeholders. Enterprise readiness – designed to meet high standards of security and scalability, serving diverse contexts from internal platforms to public-facing digital products.
